Add and edit the details of various elements of your floor plan including object dimensions, ceiling heights, and more!
Create a more comprehensive project by adding details to specific sections of your floor plan. You can add details to the overall project, floors, rooms, walls, and objects. Find out more about adding Details, Photos & Notes, and Forms to your projects here.
To learn more about what you can edit using the Details section at each level of your project, continue below.
💡Tip: Find the "Details" section by tapping the "i" icon in the upper right hand corner or, if using a smartphone, tap the item you want to edit, then swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
Project Level:
Your Details section on the Project Dashboard can be found in the lefthand menu, just below the name of the project. Tap the "i" icon to edit the following information:
- Project Name
- Project Description
- Author
- Project creation date
- Floor Plan Living Area Calculation
Other Project Dashboard menu features:
- Statistics: Access your project’s statistics from the Project Dashboard within the displayed statistics bar by clicking “See All”.
- Forms: Any forms you have created and published to the project level in the Cloud will be accessible in the Project Dashboard.
- Project Management: From the Project Dashboard you can Export or Share a project. You can also Favorite, Move, Duplicate, or Archive the project.
Floor Level:
By tapping to select a specific floor within your project, you can access and edit the following dimensions and information for the entire floor level:
- Ceiling Height
- Interior/Exterior Wall Thickness
- Floor Name
Functions of the Floor Level Details Section:
- Statistics: Access your project’s statistics by tapping “See All” within the displayed statistics bar.
- Photos & Notes: Add photos or notes to your project for comprehensive job documentation.
- Forms: Access Forms specific to the Floor Level of a project.
- Dimensions: Adjust the ceiling height for your whole floor level with one easy step, and update the interior or exterior wall thickness.
ℹ️ Note: It's not currently possible to set wall thickness for individual walls or rooms.
Room Level:
Tapping to select a room within your floor plan allows you to update dimensions and general information relating to that specific room, including:
- Ceiling Height
- Room's Living Area Calculation
- Floor to which the room is assigned
- Room Type / Name / Color
Functions of the Room Details Section:
- Photos & Notes: Add visual or written documentation specific to the room you've selected.
- Forms: Access Room Level forms.
- General: Easily change the name of a room, assign a new room type, or add a color to the room for greater visual distinction between spaces. You can also add new Fields in the Cloud to capture room information specific to your needs.
Wall Level:
To update dimensions for the walls of a given room, tap to select the room, then tap the wall you'd like to edit. For each wall, you can adjust the following information:
- Length
- Opt to Display in Elevation Report
- Indicate a Load Bearing wall
Functions of the Wall Details Section:
- Photos & Notes: Add documentation for specific walls.
- Forms: Access forms specific to walls or wall features.
- General Settings: Choose to display the elevation view in your report or indicate that the wall is a load-bearing wall.
Object Level:
By tapping to select a specific object, you can update the following aspects of that object in the Details section:
- Dimensions: Width, Depth, Height, Distance to Floor (if applicable)
- Choose to Display Label
- Specific Object Attributes
ℹ️ Note: Each object can have a different details section depending on the type of object.
Functions of the Object Details Section:
- Photos & Notes: Add images or information specific to a given object.
- Dimensions: Adjust the dimensions of a single object or groups of objects.
- Turn on the "Include in PDF" option to include the object's dimensions in your PDF exports. When you turn this feature on a yellow annotation bubble will appear on the object indicating that information is attached.
- General: Some object types will have additional information you can provide. For example, some Electrical objects will allow you to enter the Circuit Number for that object. Take some time to acquaint yourself with the objects you use regularly.
- Settings: Add or adjust the display label for the object.
ℹ️ Note: Information added to the Details section will be included in your Report PDF. You can customize your exports to include the information you need.
