Add specific photos & notes to the various levels of your floor plan.
Easily capture, organize, and enhance your project visuals in magicplan by adding photos and notes directly to your projects while onsite. All Report and Pro Plan subscribers have the ability to add photos and notes to projects, floors, rooms, walls, and objects.

How to add photos to your Project from the Project Dashboard:
- Open magicplan, and tap the project you would like to update.
- Scroll to locate the "Photos" section and tap the plus sign (+).
- Tap "Camera" to begin taking live photos or choose "Photo Library" to upload photos from your device by tapping the photo icon in the bottom left corner.
- Both options will require allowing the app access to your device's camera or photos when you see the pop-up notification.
ℹ️ Note: Once you've taken a photo, you can utilize our enhanced photo features to add timestamps, tag room locations, annotate or draw on images, and more. To learn how to use these features, click here. Photos added to the Project Dashboard will appear on the first page of the Report PDF.
How to add Photos & Notes to Floors, Rooms, Walls, or Objects
- Tap the project you would like to update.
- Open the Floor Level where you would like to add photos.
- Tap the "i" icon in the upper right corner if you are using a tablet, or swipe up from the bottom of the screen on a phone.
- Select the "Photos & Notes" tab on the Floor Level menu.
- Tap the plus (+) icon to begin taking photos or add images from your Photo Library.
- If you are photographing in a dark space, tap the Flash icon to activate Torch Mode and leave your device's flashlight on during the photo session.
- Tap the settings icon to add a Timestamp, overlay GPS Coordinates, or change the resolution of your images.
- Tap the Notes box to add your text.
- Once you've entered your note, tap "Done" on your device's keyboard.
- To confirm the note, tap "Save."
- Following these same steps, tap a specific room, wall, or object, to add photos and notes to various levels of your project.
- When you have finished taking photos for the specific element you've selected, tap the photo thumbnail to access the enhanced photo features mentioned above. Add a caption, edit, or annotate the photo with the markup tool to create comprehensive visual documentation of your project and instantly sync your images to the Cloud.
ℹ️ Note:
- When adding a photo or note to an object, a yellow annotation bubble will appear on the object, indicating that information is attached.
- You can learn how to back up photos to your device or save individual photos to your device here.
- Photos and Notes will appear in your Report PDF export under the floor, room, object, etc. to which they have been added.
