      Add Tiling and Carpeting to Your Floor Plan

      Add flooring with only a few taps and magicplan computes and optimizes the costs.

      Magicplan currently has tile and carpet as the flooring options for your floor plan, available to users with an Estimate subscription. You can select from a variety of tile sizes and carpet rolls, all in the the "Flooring" object category, and magicplan will automatically calculate the correct fit for your room and a cost estimate. 

      Tiling:

      1. Navigate to your floor plan in the app and tap the room where you want to add tile. 
      2. Tap "+ Add" and select "Object".
      3. Select the "Flooring" category, then "Tiles".
      4. Select the type of tile you want to add to the room.
      5. A tile object will appear in the room, which you can place anywhere.
      6. Edit the tile by double-tapping it or tapping the "i" icon. Change the dimensions, color, add photos & notes, and set a price. 
      7. When you exit the room, it will be covered by tile in the color you select.

      💡 Tip: Setting a price is important if you want magicplan to automatically compute a cost estimate. 

      Carpeting:

      ℹ️ Note: Carpet is only available for iOS devices and works similarly to tile, but there are some added features.

      1. Navigate to your floor plan in the app and tap the room where you want to add carpet. 
      2. Tap "+ Add" and select "Object".
      3. Select "Flooring" category, then "Carpets".
      4. Select the type of carpet you want to add to the room.
      5. The flooring menu will appear on your screen, providing several options:
        1. Optimize - let magicplan do the work to minimize waste and the number of cuts based on the carpet roll selected. 
        2. Edit Roll - change the cut margin, roll width, color, price, and more. 
        3. Align - rotate the orientation of the carpet in the room.
        4. Switch - flip the orientation of the carpet in the room. 
        5. Split - split a piece of carpet into two (magicplan will prompt you with options to split). 
        6. Delete - delete the carpet. 
        7. Export - export the Roll Cut PDF (includes room sketch, carpet dimension, number of cuts, and percentage of waste).
        8. Add Carpet Roll - tap and drag the carpet roll you selected to add it to an additional room, or add an additional carpet roll by tapping the plus sign (+) from the side bar of the flooring menu.

      💡 Tip: 

      • Setting a price is important if you want magicplan to automatically compute an estimate of the costs.
      • You can re-enter the flooring menu at any time by tapping "Flooring" from the floor plan editor menu.

      Get a Quote:

      To get a quote for your project go to the project level and enter the estimate section. Flooring costs will display as line items in your project estimate within the room the flooring was added. You can add or change the price by tapping the "i" icon next to the line item and updating the price field. 

      If you added carpet to your floor plan, you can also export the Roll Cut PDF. It includes all the information about how much material is needed and how exactly to cut the carpet. You can export this file from the flooring menu in the project or by tapping "Files & Share" from the project level and tapping "Roll Cut PDF". An email including the PDF will be sent to you.
