How to Generate an API Key in the magicplan Cloud

Learn how to find, reveal, and rotate your API key in the magicplan Cloud so you can connect magicplan with other tools and services.

Your API key is the gateway to connecting magicplan with the tools you already use, like Zapier, Xactimate®, and other project management platforms. This article walks you through generating, revealing, and rotating your API key in the magicplan Cloud.

ℹ️ Note: Access to magicplan's API requires a Report or PRO subscription.

Steps to Generate Your API Key

  1. Log in to the magicplan Cloud using your account credentials.
  2. Click "API & Integrations" to access your API key.
  3. Your API key is hidden by default for security purposes. Click the eye icon next to your key to reveal the full key.
  4. If you need to change your key, click "Rotate" to generate a new one.

⚠️ Caution: Rotating your key generates a brand-new API key and deactivates the old one. Anywhere you've added the previous key will need to be updated with the new key, or those connections will stop working.
