How to Connect and Use a Tramex Moisture Meter in magicplan

Learn how to pair a Tramex moisture meter with magicplan, place it in your floor plan, and record live readings directly into your project.

magicplan now supports a direct Bluetooth integration with Tramex moisture meters, including models like the CMEX5. This feature allows you to place moisture meter objects in your floor plan, connect to your Tramex device, and automatically capture readings for different points in time—without manual data entry.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • A compatible Tramex moisture meter with Bluetooth (e.g., CMEX5 or ME5)
  • Bluetooth enabled on your mobile device
  • The latest version of the magicplan app installed

How to Place a Tramex Moisture Meter in Your Floor Plan

  1. Open your project in magicplan.
  2. From the Project Dashboard, open the floor you’d like to edit.
  3. In the floor plan editor, tap the "+" button to add an object.
  4. Navigate to the “Restoration” category.
  5. Choose a moisture meter object. You can use the generic moisture meter or select a specific Tramex model such as the CMEX5.
  6. Position the object where you actually take the measurement to accurately document your work.

How to Connect to a Tramex Moisture Meter and Capture Readings

    1. Turn on your Tramex moisture meter. Make sure Bluetooth is active—look for the Bluetooth symbol on your device's display.
    2. Tap on the moisture meter object in your floor plan.
    3. Access the Details section:
      • On a tablet: Tap the “i” icon in the upper right corner.
      • On a phone: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
    4. Tap “Use Moisture Meter” beneath the date you’re recording readings. magicplan will automatically scan for Bluetooth-enabled devices.
    5. Select your Tramex device when it appears. The app will automatically start displaying live readings from the meter.
    6. Take a measurement. Hold the meter against the surface you’re testing. As you do, the values update live in magicplan.
    7. Tap “Use Readings.” The app will instantly import and store the readings into the moisture meter object’s details.

    💡Tip: You can repeat this process over time to capture and compare multiple readings at the same location.

    What Values Are Captured?

    magicplan automatically imports the following five data points from your specific Tramex model. Depending on the device, you may see:

    • Moisture content
    • Relative humidity
    • Air temperature
    • Humidity ration/Specific humidity
    • Surface temperature

    ℹ️ Note: Not all Tramex models provide the same measurements. magicplan will only display and store the values your device supports.
