Use the metric or imperial measurement system for your floor plan dimensions - whichever you prefer.
Whether you use imperial or metric units, magicplan has you covered! You also have the flexibility to specify the exact fraction or decimal that you wish to use for measurement.
There are two ways you can change units in the app on your phone or tablet device.
Option 1:
- Tap "My Account" from the app home screen.
- Tap “App Preferences”.
- Tap "Units" and choose your preferred units. Select from Metric, Feet or Inches; then use the scroll under the category to specify to what fraction or decimal you will measure.
- These units are applied to every project in your Workspace.
Option 2:
- Open a project in the app.
- Tap a dimension on your floor plan. A "Change measure" window will appear.
- Tap "Units" and choose your preferred units. Select from Metric, Feet or Inches; then use the scroll under the category to specify to what fraction or decimal you will measure.
- Tap "Done".
- These units are applied to every project in your Workspace.
💡 Tips:
- If you already created a floor plan and then decide to change the units, the app may not register the new units for that project. Make an amendment to your floor plan (e.g. add and delete a random object) and magicplan will recognize and remember the change. You can proceed to export as usual.
- It is not possible to change units in the cloud, only through your mobile/tablet device.
- When you open a project in the cloud, it might show the old units' settings. In this case, clear your web browser's Cache & Cookies and logout/login to your magicplan account.
