Learn about magicplan's direct integration with Xactimate®️.
Integrating magicplan with Xactimate®️ can significantly streamline your workflow, making it easier to manage and share your project data. This integration allows you to seamlessly transfer your floor plans, measurements, and other project details from magicplan directly into Xactimate®️.
This guide will walk you through exporting projects to Xactimate®️ in the app and cloud.
ℹ️ Note: The magicplan integration will need to be activated by our integrations team before you can begin using it. Please reach out to our Sales Team to get your integration enabled.
Start in Xactimate®️
ℹ️ Note: Xactimate®️ can only be used from a web browser on a Windows desktop.
- Create a project in your Xactimate®️ account.
- Click the project so that it's highlighted in the projects list, and select "Request data" on the right side menu.
- If you haven't filled in the information, such as the Claim number and property address, you will first need to do this.
- To add the information, go to the sidebar menu on the right and select the "Open" icon at the top.
- After you have selected "Request data", you will be directed to another page to complete the following process:
- Click the dropdown arrow next to "Request service".
- Select "Interior Walls".
- In the next step, ensure that the information displayed is correct.
- Click on "Submit," and you will receive confirmation that your request has been submitted successfully.
Export from magicplan
In the app:
- Open the magicplan app on your mobile or tablet device.
- Create a new project or open the one you want to export to Xactimate®️.
- Once your floor plan is ready to export, go to the project page and tap "Files & Sharing".
- Select the "Sharing" tab, then "Verisk".
- To include photos: tap "Configure" next to the export option. You will see a toggle for photos that can be enabled and a toggle to compress your photos. For every photo included, 5 seconds will be added to the export wait time.
- Select the claim number connected to the project in Xactimate®️ (be sure they match!).
- Note: If it's your first export, you will not be asked to select a claim.
- You will receive an email confirmation once the export is complete (wait time with no photos is 5-10 seconds).
ℹ️ Note: Xactimate® allows a maximum of 100MB of photo storage per project. If you exceed this limit, the transfer to Xactimate®️ will fail, and you will receive an error message.
- To avoid this, you can enable photo compression for the integration, as shown in Step 4A
- If your photo file is still too large, you can download a zip file of your photos in magicplan and manually import them into Xactimate. See this article for instructions (scroll down to "Download from Cloud")
