How to Duplicate a Project in magicplan

Duplicating a project creates an exact copy of your floor plan, which you can rename, move to a different workspace, and customize with or without the original project's data.

Need a fresh copy of an existing project without starting from scratch? Here's how to duplicate a project in magicplan in just a few taps:

💡 Tip: Duplicating a project is a great way to create templates for similar spaces, so you don't have to remeasure or redraw a floor plan from scratch every time.

How to Duplicate a Project

  1. Open the magicplan app on your mobile device.
  2. Find and select the project you want to duplicate on your home screen. You can do this one of two ways:
    • Tap and hold the project until the menu appears, or
    • Tap the three dots ("...") in the lower right corner of the project thumbnail.

  3. Select "Duplicate."
  4. Name your project and select the workspace where your duplicated project will live.
    • You can also opt to include any data associated with your project with the duplicated floor plan.
  5. Tap the "Duplicate" button to confirm.

That's it! Your duplicated project will now appear in the workspace you selected, ready for you to edit.

ℹ️ Note: If you choose not to include your project's data when duplicating, the new project will keep the same floor plan but start with a clean slate for reports, forms, and other project details.
